Jake's 1st Birthday!

Yeah, we all survived the first year!!!! Actually it wasn't that bad (now surviving Avery's first year was an accomplishment). So Jake had a good year. He started out in life to be a big guy 9lbs 2 oz at birth...then finishes the year off at 22lbs. Which is really average. He is a bit on the short side though. But his biceps and nice round head gives him a strong prescence. He is still a goofy guy and always on the move. It's a bit exhausting. He is a adventurous little monkey. Unfortunately he is also very clumsy, which is a bad combination. I see alot of ER visits in our future. I may need to stock the garage with boxes of bandaids. Check out his birthday pics. First set are from his actually birthday August 5th. We have a ritual of cupcakes on your birthday. Then we had a big party for him the following weekend.

Damn this stuff is good! Keep Away or I will take you down!

So Jake do you like it? So hard to read your expression!

Umm, I think I missed a spot.

Apparently, Avery enjoys birthdays too. Doesn't matter whose it is, as long as there is cake.

Surprise present from Daddy. I am not sure who was more excited Jake or daddy.

Birthday Party Time!!

Opening first present.

Being polite and reading the card first. Such a gentleman.

The anticipation is killing me!!

Hurry hurry open it up!

Great Grandma and Brady

The Birthday Boy! He was a perfect guy the whole day. Not a peep out of him and not even a nap.

I don't have the heart to tell him a basketball career may not be in his future, especially with his short stature.

Ahh he's sharing...or is he just smiling to throw us off his real intent. To push her off the deck.

Hmm, Jake where did Avery go? Oh well, it's your bday I guess you can get away with murder.

Happy Bday to you, my handsome lil guy!

I feel I need to prepare you for what you are about see. If you can't see it. It is a cupcake that he has smooshed against his face and sucked on it till it was gone. He was like snake.

Hey can someone hook me up with a shot of milk to wash this done?

Jake and his wonderful mommy!

See he thinks so too!

Nay Nay Mommy I got another cupcake!

Tank the dog loves birthdays too! He is part of the cleaning crew.

July 2009

July was another crazy month. Avery's mouth never stops moving and Jake's feet never stop moving. They are quite the pair. Jake started walking the last weekend in June and by the end of July he was running. He never stops not even to sit. When bedtime rolls around he crashes out. We have completed the deck and it looks great. I will posts pic later. We are excited to welcome my new nephew Brady Cole into the family. He was born on the 26th and is quite a cutie pie. Avery has asked for her own baby, but Ryan is trying to lean her toward wanting a dog instead. She is a little mommy in training. She loves to help Jake and even shares her waffles with him. She will even break them into tiny pieces. So hard to believe Jake will be a year old very soon. Where does the time go?!

A girl needs to look her best! She has a few lessons still to learn.

Watching fireworks with Grandma. She loved them.

She is really patriotic! Well she has no choice coming from a military family.

Who is more excited?
Jake was really into the fireworks. Ever time they would go off he would say "boomboom". Check out his hand in this pic, so cute.

Walking is so awesome! He laughs and screams whenever he would walk. He thought it was hilarious. Of course he sister is standing by telling him to be careful.

My lil Gilligan

Didn't I say he crashes when he is done! All that walking wears a guy out.

I know I am biased but he is soooo cute!!

Going for a swim with Poppy. He loves the pool.

Avery on the other hand would rather play in a bucket of water. Ryan thinks she looks like she is heading to Iraq with the vest. Look out for the water bombs!

Show off! Flaunting all his teeth.

We went to the Aquarium and met up with some friends. We haven't seen them since GA and now they have 2 kids and so do we. We realized we managed to double our population in 3 years.

Avery and Alex checking out the big fish!

She loved the fish and one of them kept coming to the glass to check her out.

A very exciting day leads to a very tired Avery. 10 seconds in the car and she was out.

Jake on the other hand...not so tired.

Me and nephew Brady...but check out my ragamuffin kids in the background.
Yeah they start out cute and clean. Then they turn into walking messes.

Ahh Brady...it's a good thing your cute. I won't hold the hat against you. At least you are not a Boston fan!
PS. GO YANKEES!
