September 2010

So I had a total moment of memory loss and I could have sworn I did Sept blog. But apparently I just dreamed it. So here it is. A few pics from Sept. It was a special month for Avery. She started Preschool. Only a few mornings a week but it was very exciting. Of course she loved her first day...then decided to torture me for 2 weeks after that. I even sprained my hand trying to drag her into the building. But we are good now and she has no problems. Jake is enjoying it too! He doesnt have to share his Mommy during the mornings (except with Brady...our lil add on during the week).

Her she is!! Very first day of school. Here begins her school career!
Showing off her new bookbag from Aunt Leslie. It is a useful bargaining too.

A wonderful start to the day with the gang! Brady is getting the hang of the Booth schedule.

I just had to show this pic...it is too funny(and sad)! My nephew got an old typewriter and all the young folk were very interested in how this dinosaur works.

August 2010

August is another birthday month for us. Jacob Hanson Booth turned 2yrs old on the 5th...He is such a big kid now. He talks alllllll the TIME!!! He is worse than his sister. He is in constant competition with her. So much so...that during our recent dr visit he insisted on doing everything the same way she did it. Including getting a hearing and vision test...which apparently they don't normally do for 2 yr olds. Not my lil man, he sat there like a professional patient. They are thriving of course can't you tell by the pictures haha. I was told by the dr. that Avery could very well be as tall as 5'9" in adulthood. Geez, I hope that is helpful when it comes to college scholarships. Next month is a big month for Avery...she starts preschool!

His traditional birthday cupcake given on his exact birthdate.

He really enjoys it.

His big birthday present and he was a natural at it.

Smiling and loving his singing birthday card from Uncle Stan and Aunt Sovath. Of course I sing the song in my sleep too (yeah thanks again Stan and Sovath!)

Talking to his many family members who called throughout the day to sing to him.

Ok...is everyone happy now...my son has appropriate imaginary play clothes for a boy. Of course he still likes the princess dresses.

His dinosaur cake made by his wonderful mommy for his party!

While we were singing he blew the candle out before the song was done...he must have been singing it faster in his head!

My lil michaelangelo...she is constantly drawing or coloring and is a bit OCD over it. Notice she doesn't go out of the lines and the colors are painstakingly picked.

Yes, we are sorta happy to say he is using the big potty. He is actually doing really well. I am not really gung ho about it. I figure maybe next month or something. But he got big boy underwears from his Aunt Margie.

Cape May 2010

Well, we ventured down to Cape May again this year. It was perfect weather. Although the beach water could have been a bit warmer...it was way too cold for me. All in all the vacation was good, minus the daily Avery temper tantrums it would have been perfect. But I can't complain...at least there was no laundry, dog poop to clean up, and dinner to cook for a whole week. I will take daily temper tantrums as long as I am at the beach too :)
I took this picture waiting for breakfast...I loved the way it looked with the colorful chairs.

My handsome guy enjoying the sand...notice I didnt say ocean, since he wasnt a fan of the water

Unless it was enclosed in a pool of course!
Hmmm, I guess I should have seen the attitude coming when I took this pic.

She was digging to china so she told me.

I caught this one just in time...notice Jake checking out the girl...hmm notice his daddy looking all proud.

Poppy and Daddy enjoying a relaxing vacation

Grandma made this outfit especially for her to wear at Cape May...and she loved it!

She takes great profile pics!

That is his way of saying"Cool Dude" he hasnt quite figured out it's thumbs up not pointers up. Oh well, he is still so damn cute!

We all decided to take turns pushing Grandma this vacation...even the young ones had to pitch in.

Apparently, he figured Grandma had the right idea and joined her for the ride.

We were eating dinner and noticed a cat hiding in the reeds...so they were waving to him!

It was a long day at the beach and pool.

I just had to show this pic....#1 beach rule is....DO NOT FEED THE SEAGULLS! They must have been from NY haha!!
The wind in your hair....the sand in your toes...that is a true Jersey Shore Girl!

And this is a true Jersey Shore Guy...knock out cold after a day of doing nothing!

On our last day we went to the zoo...we find its a perfect way to end the vacation. The kids really like it.
Bears, monkeys, alligators...nope ducks, they wanted to look at ducks...geez!

Avery was our very speedy tour guide...we weren't allowed more than 2 minutes at each exhibit.

June-July 2010

Ok so far it has been a very hot and dry dry dry summer. Our lawn turned to a nice crunchy brown, which seems to bother me more than the kids. The kids are doing wonderful. Jake is talking like his sister and has to imitate everything she does and says. Avery has become very serious about her artwork. She draws really well and is excellent at coloring. For a 3.5yr old she barely goes out of the lines and everything needs to be the exact right color. She maybe bordering on obsessive. I feel sorry for her preschool teacher. Jake decided he wants to use the big potty...only every once and awhile. I have no real interest in potty training him just yet. I am still trying to recover from the trauma of training his sister. Of course he does like to yell out in the middle of the store..."I have to go potty!". Ah yes they are quite the characters!
Helping Grandma cook dinner...one of her many favorite things to do. She also enjoys to watch cooking shows.
I don't know maybe a future Yankee player in the making!

Being a mermaid...dont worry we did upgrade to a bigger pool. After I realized they both couldnt fit in this one along with every toy in the house.

Just a silly boy!
Enjoying some 4th of July fireworks with the family...notice her mouth. She was in the middle of an ooohhh.
Jake was really excited too...sorta
Don't worry Avery was excited for the both of them
She was putting on a little dance show before the fireworks.

Swimming with Aunt Leslie...finally starting to like the water! Only if the water is the right temp. He refuses if the water is below 80 degrees
Avery was really liking it too...she is even able to swim for a few seconds without anyone holding her. (with use of swim gear of course)

Um Jake I think you are safe now...I am not even sure you are getting wet!

Helping her daddy fix the oven. She is a very hands on girl.
Of course you need to be outfitted correctly for the job!
She was being really silly...the box was so small I couldn't believe she fit into it.
Jake having some summer fun with his Aunt Jenny. He became really daring by jumping into the pool.

Yeah...I know maybe we need to invest in some boy dress up stuff. But he really wanted to be a ballerina. He even danced like one too. God...I can't wait till he gets a girlfriend...I should have a novel full of good stuff by then.
